About FORM's Founder: August J. Breton

I have a great passion for my craft. I have been around this type of work since I can remember; my family had a small, very personal approach to their masonry company in Connecticut. This is where my brother and I started in this tradition at a young age that would continue to evolve.

Initially coming back to GA from working in a union hall in CT, I started a masonry company that would grow to two crews focusing primarily on large scale commercial work. Along that time frame I continued to learn about restoration work in the amazingly historic town of Savannah, GA.  Approved by the historical society, I specialized in  mortar matching to time period and facade restoration.

The oven aspect of Form originates from my growing up  around a grandmother who was Italian. I spent many a time at a young age in her kitchen, learning how to cook and making memories. Tying my love for food with my craft was a perfect fit with wood fired brick ovens.

Residing for a few years in Western North Carolina, I gained experience in green building, wood work, and stone design.  Coming home to Savannah, I have blended these experiences and continued to grow as a preservationist, restoring many historic structures to their original beauty.  I currently work within three different markets, Savannah, Charleston, and Asheville.
